Libra begins at the autumn equinox, when day and night stand in balance, and balance is what Libra is all about. If you're a Libra, you have a gift for seeing every side, bringing people together and making things more harmonious, from a tense conversation to a living room.
Personality
Ruled by Venus, Libra loves beauty, art and grace. You have a natural eye for what looks and feels right, and you bring elegance to whatever you touch. You're also a born diplomat, warm, charming and genuinely interested in other people's points of view.
Fairness matters deeply to you. You can't stand injustice, and you'll speak up for someone who's being treated wrong. Because you can see so many perspectives, decisions can take time; you want to get it right for everyone. That thoughtfulness is part of what makes you such a trusted friend and partner.

Myth and history
Libra is the only sign of the zodiac represented by an object rather than a living creature. The scales are often linked to Astraea, goddess of justice (the Virgo next door), who weighed the fates of people with her balance. Babylonian astronomers also knew these stars as the Scales.
The ancient Greeks, however, saw these stars as the outstretched claws of the neighboring Scorpion. The Romans later made Libra its own constellation again. You can still hear the old story in the names of its brightest stars, which mean 'northern claw' and 'southern claw' in Arabic.
Dear Libra, you make the world kinder and lovelier just by being in it. Remember that your own needs belong on the scale too.
